Sharon Meyer is a nurse practitioner who was born and raised in Chicago. She received her undergraduate degree in Cell Biology from the University of Illinois Champaign and her Bachelors in nursing and Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner Masters degree from Rush College of Nursing.
Prior to joining MDHN, Sharon had been practicing gastroenterology at a large academic center with a focus in general gastroenterology, inflammatory bowel disease, and inpatient acute care.
Sharon is an active member of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Advanced Practice Provider
Association and the American College of Gastroenterology.
Being a colon cancer survivor herself and having a spouse with Crohn’s disease, she has a
unique insight into how gastrointestinal symptoms can affect your whole life. She is passionate
about treating the whole individual and working together with her patients to help alleviate their
gastrointestinal symptoms and improve their overall quality of life.
In Sharon’s free time, she likes to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoys traveling,
hiking and biking.
