Dr. Krupa Shah is a Midwest native, born and raised in the western suburbs of Chicago. She attended Northwestern University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders. She went on to obtain her medical degree from Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency and fellowship training in gastroenterology at Riverside Medical Center.

Dr. Shah is a board-certified gastroenterologist with expertise in general gastroenterology including GERD, functional dyspepsia, celiac disease, irritable bowel syndrome, diverticular disease, and nutritional health. She is particularly passionate about colorectal cancer prevention, endoscopy, and colonoscopy procedures, as well as the role of preventative medicine and lifestyle choices in digestive health.

She is an active member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, American Gastroenterological Association, and American College of Gastroenterology.

Dr. Shah believes that “true healing begins when we treat the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—honoring their unique needs and interests. By embracing a holistic approach and recognizing the profound impact of lifestyle choices, we empower patients to reclaim their health, not just through medicine, but through the way they live, eat, move, and think. This is how we create healing that is both deeply personal and sustainably effective.”

In her free time, Dr. Shah enjoys staying active, playing outside and doing arts and crafts with her daughters, traveling, and cooking healthy meals for her family.
