Jessica Figueroa is a physician associate (PA) who was born on the southeast side of Chicago and raised in Hammond, Indiana. She received both her undergraduate and physician associate degrees from Valparaiso University. She further completed her doctor of Medical Science degree at Butler University.

Before joining MDHN, Jessica had been practicing general gastroenterology at a large academic center with a focus on inflammatory bowel disease.

Jessica believes patient education is central to exceptional medical care. She says, “I grew up in a Spanish-speaking family and often saw how challenging a doctors visit could be when a provider didn't speak your native language. I'm very passionate about patient education and helping patients to understand and navigate their diagnosis. At MDHN, my goal is ensure that all of my patients, including those in the Latino community, feel heard and understood. I want all of my patients to feel included when developing a treatment plan.”

In Jessica’s free time, she is a huge family person and spends most of her free time enjoying their company. She has a younger brother and a dog named Bruno  (named after watching Disney's Encanto). She loves to grab coffee, check out a new restaurant, or go to the gym.
