Dr. Aashesh Verma is a midwest native from Rockford, Illinois and graduated from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, earning a degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology and Psychology with a chemistry minor. He obtained his medical degree at the Medical College of Rush University, and completed his internal medicine residency training at the University of Michigan. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship training at Rush University Medical Center.
Dr. Verma is a board-certified gastroenterologist who specializes in gastrointestinal motility disorders,
esophageal disorders, colorectal cancer prevention, as well as endoscopy and colonoscopy procedures.
He is an active member of American Gastroenterological Association, American College of
Gastroenterology, and the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
Dr. Verma believes that “it is important to empower patients to take charge of their own health." His goal
is to provide the best treatment for his patients by helping them choose a treatment plan tailored to their
unique gastroenterological conditions, history, and background. "Issues with digestion can cause many
distressing symptoms on a day to day basis; it is very satisfying to partner with patients to alleviate these
symptoms and help them live healthier lives.”
In Dr. Verma’s free time, he likes to stay active exploring new hiking trails and training in martial arts.
He enjoys Indie movies and appreciates a broad range of music.
